The MK7 Mini Cooper was based on the Mini 30, the most luxuriously equipped Limited Edition Mini to date, but fitted with the 1,275cc engine rather than the 30's 998cc unit. What would turn out to be the final Mini version arrived in 1996. Changes included twin-point fuel injection, higher final drive gearing, driver's airbag, side impact beams, additional sound insulation, improved front seats, front-mounted radiator and a 'Sports Pack' option. Part of a factory initiative intended to encourage customers to personalise their Minis, the Sports Pack comprised 13"x6" Minilite-style alloy wheels, extended wheel arches, Koni dampers, four auxiliary front lights, large-bore exhaust tailpipe and extra instruments. Among the numerous other options was a wood embellished interior and 'John Cooper' black leather seats.
This stunning Cooper Sport is a fantastic car, genuine 33,899 from new backed up by a fantastic detailed history folder. Presented in the rare Amaranth pearlescent paint, this particular Mini Cooper Sportspack hosts the black leather interior with contrasting cream piping and accents. Registered on 04/02/1998, this is a very rare Cooper sport with warranted miles of 33,899. Backed up by old mot’s and service history. Only 4 former keepers from new, she sits in great condition for her age. She presents in excellent overall and is a joy to drive. Over the years she has had repairs and replacement parts changed. This includes a rear replacement subframe in May of 2018 and a replacement clutch in September of 2019. The vehicle has been stored in a dry garage for the last 2 years before I purchased it. She is now dry stored in my garage and is only used on dry hot days.
The history file is the best I have ever seen. This includes the following, log book, HPI clear document, every past mot from 2001-2022 ( 20 in total, missing one mot while the car was stored 2019 ), Original used car stock list with advert of car at Chequered flag in 1998 showing 4,000 miles (7 months old), Original bill of sale for £8,500 from Chequered Flag, Deposit receipt, Letter from Sales manager thanking for business, Original salesmen’s business card, breakdown cover card, warranty receipts, maintenance sheets, original service invoices from Rover, various bills, service receipts and invoices from Banstead Garage, Hawthorns Engineering and Mini Spares. Also the mini comes with its original wallet, in car entertainment book, owners handbook and service portfolio book. Every page is stamped, mostly main dealer Rover. 10 stamps in total, only 10 slots in the book. The most recent invoice cost just over £1,400. This includes Repairs, replacing the head lamps, Brakes, rust cut away, plates welded, service and MOT. Also included are boxes of spare parts that accompany the car. To conclude this is a very rare example, extremely low mileage, low ownership, rare colour combination and an extensive history file. Mini sports like this do not come up for sale to often, a fantastic investment opportunity. Please call for further information. £POA
